  What is FTP?
FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. FTP is a convenient way to transfer files to and from another machine.

What do I need to use FTP?
You will need an ftp software such as WS_FTP for the PC or Fetch for the Macintosh.
To download FTP software you can visit Tucows website

What is the server name that I should connect to if I want to upload my files ?
For students, the server name is "student.ipm.edu.mo".
Staff, please use "staff.ipm.edu.mo".

How should I save my file in order it will be the main page?
You can save your file using one of the following options (ordered by priority):
1. index.html
2. index.htm
3. default.htm
4. default.html
Please make sure that you have only one file with any of the above names. If you have more than one file with the above names (for instance, "index.html" and "default.html"), the main page will be the index.html because of the priority criteria assigned to the server.
