  Blackboard Learning System - CE6
SafeAssign™ is a plagiarism prevention service, offered by Blackboard within the Learning Systems. "This service helps educators prevent plagiarism by detecting unoriginal content in student papers. In addition to acting as a plagiarism deterrent, it also has features designed to aid in educating students about plagiarism and importance of proper attribution of any borrowed content".

SafeAssignments appear in courses as "Content Link" and can be added to any course content area. SafeAssignments function like the existing Assignment content type with the feature of plagiarism detection once papers are submitted. It generates a report for each uploaded file, identifying text segments appearing in other sources.

Note: SafeAssignments are different from Assignments and there is no connection between them. It is not possible to make an existing Assignment a SafeAssignment without starting from the beginning. Like regular Assignments, however, SafeAssignments are integrated with the Gradebook.
